Advance voting in Cobb County has begun for contested races in five cities and the special election for State Senate District 6.
State Senate candidates are Republican Leah Aldridge, Republican Matt Bentley, Republican Kathy Eichenblatt, Republican Charlie Fiveash, Democrat Jaha Howard, Democrat Jen Jordan, Republican Leo Smith and Democrat Taos Wynn.
Austell City Council candidates are incumbent Ollie B. Clemons Jr. and Melanie Maria Elder for at-large Post 1, Ikaika Anderson and Marlin Lamar for Ward 1 and Trudie Causey and incumbent Randy Green for Ward 2.
Kennesaw City Council candidates are Pat Ferris, Antonio “Tony” Jones and Jeffrey Oparnica for Post 3; incumbent Jimmy Devall Dickens Sr., Chris Henderson and Post 5 incumbent James V. Sebastian Jr. for Post 4 and David Blinkhorn for Post 5.
Contested Marietta City Council candidates are Greg Bieger, Jay Davis and Cheryl Richardson for Ward 1 and Reggie Copeland, Ben Lyman and incumbent Ruben J. Sands for Ward 5.
Other contested races are in Powder Springs between incumbent Nancy Hudson and Nancy Farmer in Ward 3 and in Smyrna among Maryline Blackburn, Jeff Carter, Travis Lindley, Marshall A. Moon and Adam P. Taylor for the Ward 3 special election.
Eligible voters may cast their ballots at any of the following locations, but dates and hours vary by location.
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays through Nov. 3 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Cobb Elections Main Office, 736 Whitlock Ave., Marietta.
Satellite Voting Locations, beginning Oct. 30:
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 at Austell City Hall, 2716 Broad St. SW, Austell.
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 at Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw.
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 at Community Development Building, 4488 Pineview Drive, Powder Springs.
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Smyrna Community Center, 200 Village Green Circle Smyrna.
There will be no voting on Nov. 6 before the general election on Nov. 7.
