A woman has been accused of hitting a child until they bled, according to Cobb County police.

Jahleesa Hibbert, 27, has been in Cobb jail since Wednesday on a felony charge of child cruelty.

According to a police warrant, she beat the child with a long brown cord when the child refused to do homework.

The child, who had a curved cut and welt on their left shoulder, told police about the “whipping” at the Marietta Hotel, which was Hibbert’s listed address of residence.

Police wrote that the woman did treat the child’s cut.

Jail records show Hibbert’s bond is $15,000.
