A man and a woman were arrested after Cobb County police say they found a pound of marijuana and a gun in their SUV.

Marcus Williams and Jamiracle Howard — both of Huntsville, Alabama — were arrested Thursday on a marijuana possession charge and have since bonded out, according to jail records.

Williams was also booked on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and driving with a faulty taillight.

According to a warrant, officers found the 1.02 pounds of marijuana in a plastic bag in the rear seat of the GMC Yukon, which police stopped at Mableton Parkway and Lee Industrial Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. The gun police found was a 9 mm Taurus pistol.

In Georgia, possessing more than an ounce of marijuana for distribution is a felony carries and sentence of at least one year and no more than 10 years.

Williams had a bond of $16,720 and Howard’s was $11,220.
