Cobb County Community Development Agency Director Rob Hosack has retired.

Hosack was presented a certificate of recognition by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners Tuesday for his 29 years of service.

A Western Carolina University graduate, he began his career in Tennessee before starting in Cobb’s Planning and Zoning Division in 1986.

Moving up to senior planner, Hosack then became the coordinator for intergovernmental relations, next the Planning Division manager and, in 1998, the Community Development Agency director.

“Although he is now retiring, we are thankful for so many years of his leadership and outstanding work,” Chairman Tim Lee said of Hosack in a Tuesday memo.
