A Wells Fargo in Marietta has reopened days after a man held its employees hostage before being killed by police.

Crystal Drake, a corporate spokeswoman, said touch-ups to the 2675 Windy Hill Road building’s exterior and interior were needed, including repairs to the brick wall.

“Our security protocols and technology are not compromised,” she said in a statement.

Brian Easley, a 33-year-old former Marine, held two bank employees hostage for hours Friday morning before the women were able to escape. He threatened that he had an IED, but authorities have since found that he did not.

It is not clear what happened immediately before the fatal shooting, and details aren’t being released due to the state’s ongoing investigation.

What is known is that Cobb County police SWAT officer Dennis Ponte shot and killed Easley, who was the second standoff suspect in 15 months Ponte has shot and killed in the line of duty.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is looking into the incident, as it does with many officer-involved shootings.
