The owner of a Cobb County auto repair shop was shot in the stomach over the money in his pocket, reports Channel 2 Action News.
A man with a gun tried to rob the owner of C&A Auto Repair at 4174 Old Austell Road in Powder Springs two weeks ago as he was opening the shop, according to the station. The owner, who was told by police not to appear on camera, fought back.
He said he had $10 on him at the time of the attempted robbery.
Police responded to the business on an alarm call and found the owner shot. The bullet went through his stomach, and the man was released from the hospital the same day.
Channel 2 said police have few leads on who the suspect could be.
“It’s scary, it makes me nervous, we get here early in the mornings,” said Anne Marie Matlock, who owns a barbershop across the street.
Channel 2 reported on Friday that the owner of the auto shop was back at work.
