The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to spend nearly $1.03 million to replace Pitner Bridge Road over Little Allatoona Creek.
Tidwell Construction Co. was the low bidder for this project that will be funded by the 2011 special purpose local option sales tax.
The bridge will remain two lanes, but there will be shoulder improvements and pedestrian accommodations.
Work is expected to be completed by the fall with a summer bridge closure anticipated, according to Cobb Department of Transportation Director Faye DiMassimo.
