The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted recently to approve a contract with the International Association Chiefs of Police for a police policy assessment of the county’s police department.

IACP will be paid $93,000 for the six-month study.

This study follows an internal assessment by Cobb Public Safety Director Sam Heaton earlier this year of the department’s recruitment, diversity training, community engagement and citizen complaint process.
