An agreement with Gonna Fly Now was revised Jan. 23 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for the reconstruction of the clubhouse and the development, operation, maintenance and repair of the Legacy Links Golf Club, 1825 Windy Hill Road, Smyrna.

In March 2017, the clubhouse at the Legacy Golf Course was destroyed by fire.

Gonna Fly Now has agreed to reconstruct the clubhouse provided that the February 2016 agreement is amended to extend the term - by 10 years from 30 to 40 years - to provide time to amortize the cost of this reconstruction and to make other revisions.

At its sole cost, Gonna Fly Now will reconstruct the clubhouse, according to plans to be approved by the county and in compliance with all permits for the project, applicable laws and terms of the amended agreement.

Reconstruction of the clubhouse must begin within 90 days after all approvals and permits are obtained and be completed within two years from the date the reconstruction begins.

Managing members of Gonna Fly Now include Whitney Crouse and Steve Willy, owners of Mosaic Club and Resorts, a golf management company that has managed Cobblestone Golf Course in Acworth since 2003, with other members including Jim Kegley and Steve Bowen.

Since September 1992, contracts have been transferred by Cobb County for oversight of the Legacy Golf Course from Club Associates Inc. to Legacy (Windy Hill) Limited Partnership in October 1992 to Gonna Fly Now LLC in February 2016.
