American Legion blood drive today

American Legion Harold Byrd Post 66 and Life South Community Blood Centers host a blood drive 8 to 11:30 a.m. today at the post home, 30 Covington Road, Avondale Estates. All donors will receive a T-shirt and cholesterol screening. Donors must be age 17 or older or age 16 with written parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and show photo ID.

Marietta Square Farmers Market today

The Marietta Square Farmers Market resumes 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and every Saturday through Dec. 19 along Mill Street on the Historic Marietta Square, 65 Church St. More than 40 vendors will participate in this year’s market, which features fresh, locally grown food along with cheese, bread, eggs, fresh flowers, local honey, baked goods, meat, mushrooms, milk and many more options.

Free parking is available all day in the two county parking decks. Mill Street will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow vendors enough time to set up for the market.
