Soon, Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill could be addressing a grand jury to explain why he shouldn't be burdened with a misdemeanor charge for accidentally shooting a woman while she was showing a house.

Hill has stated vaguely that he was training her on how to use a gun and has said little else. But now he has the special privilege offered to law enforcement officers to address a grand jury without having to be cross examined.

We figure the sheriff has a good explanation of what happened and will work hard to win over the jurors to see him as a sympathetic figure whose own best intentions sometimes get the best of him.

To that end, Bill Torpy has written a speech that Hill could deliver to the grand jury. Here's what he would say.
