Clayton County businesses can get tax credit for job creation

The state of Georgia has designated Clayton County as a Tier 1 county for 2017. This means that lawful businesses in Clayton - including those in retail, office and lodging - that create two new jobs can qualify for a $3,500 per job tax credit for five years, the city of Morrow recently posted on its site.

Here’s what businesses in Clayton County must do to qualify for the credit:

  • Create a minimum of two jobs
  • Jobs must be full time, with the employees working at least 35 hours a week
  • Pay in exccess of the lowest average wage of any county in the state
  • Offer health insurance upon employment
