Clayton County has begun its mosquito spraying schedule that will continue when the temperature reaches and stays above at least 70 degrees. The program will end on Sept. 30.

The county will be sprayed by commission districts area. District areas 1 and 3 are sprayed the first week and then Districts areas 2 and 4 the following week. The pattern is repeated every two weeks, and only unincorporated areas of the county will be sprayed.

The schedule is also dependent on the weather as the county isn’t able to spray in heavy rain (rain-outs will be made-up whenever possible), in high wind (above 10 mph), and in extreme heat (above 90 degrees).
