Clarkston Police Chief Christine Hudson described steps the city has taken on preparedness if an Ebola outbreak takes place, during a November city council meeting.

The city receives weekly briefing from DeKalb Emergency Management Agency.

“They have assured us that so far we are in a good place,” Hudson said. “They are really not concerned as far as Clarkston goes. What they are concerned about are the doctors over at Emory because they are treating patients over there.”

Clarkston police officers have been trained in procedures should they come in contact with someone who has an infectious disease. Patrol cars are equipped with kits that contain latex gloves, non-absorbent jumpsuits with hoods, medical masks, boot covers and disinfectant liquid spray.
