The Canton City Council is scheduled to vote next week on a conditional use permit allowing a church to operate in a strip shopping center at 1750 Marietta Highway.
The city’s Planning Commission recommended approval of the request from Dream Church on Oct. 17, noting there was adequate parking for the facility as most of the businesses in the center would be closed when it holds its services, a staff report prepared for the Council meeting says.
Its neighbors would be a Goodwill of North Georgia store and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
The church was started by Collver Family Ministries and is described as "a local church with a vision to help people discover, pursue, and accomplish their God-given dreams," according to its Facebook pages. The City Council is to act on the conditional use request Nov. 17.
