Cherokee County has scheduled “Critical Issues Forums” for later this month, inviting the public to help the county update its comprehensive plan.

The meetings are scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 27 at the Cherokee County Recreation Center, 7545 Main St., Woodstock and 6 to 8 p.m. June 29 at the Northside Cherokee Conference Center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.

County officials say community input on a wide range of topics, such as land use, transportation, infrastructure, housing, economic development, historic preservation and environmental protection is welcome.

A "Shape Cherokee" website gives information about the process and asks visitors to take a survey about critical issues the county faces over the next 20 years. The site also offers online forums where respondents can talk about land use, transportation and county assets.
