With the start of fall classes only days away, Cherokee County School District officials are warning families that roadwork will likely affect traffic around three schools in the River Ridge attendance area near Woodstock.

Cherokee students return to school Aug. 1, and the county has road projects going through the fall on East Cherokee Drive, Ga. 5 and Mill Creek Road, officials said.

“The construction is expected to impact traffic around Johnston Elementary School and may also affect Mill Creek Middle School and River Ridge High School traffic,” the district said. Students are encouraged to ride school buses for transportation.
