The Cherokee County School Board has renewed a partnership agreement that lets a youth baseball league continue to use softball fields at two Woodstock elementary schools in exchange for maintaining them in good repair.

Hobgood Baseball Inc. will have access to the fields at Bascomb and Carmel elementary schools after regular school hours. Terms of use are detailed in a 50-year lease between the nonprofit organization and school district signed in 1998.

School hours are defined generally as 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The youth league also is entitled to profits from concession sales “as an additional offset against maintenance costs.”
