The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved leasing space in the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center to a church Sunday mornings for 12 months at a rent of $3,800 a month.

The lease with Towne Center Community Church, doing business as Legacy Church, runs from August 2018 to July 2019 and has an option to renew for an additional year, according to a staff report to commissioners. The conference center, at 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton, also is where the County Commission meets.

Each Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the church will have use of 12,000 square feet, including the ball room and a pre-function area. It also will have limited use of the kitchen for beverages.

The church will be responsible for set-up and tear-down of chairs and other movable furniture and fixtures, while the county will provide janitorial services including cleaning, vacuuming and trash removal, the lease says.
