The first-ever Cherokee Film Summit seeks to bring business partners, film industry professionals and local creative types together for an evening of networking, speakers and panel discussions.
The Cherokee Office of Economic Development event begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the site of co-host and presenting sponsor the Yanmar Evo Center, 5889 Old Alabama Road, Acworth. Tickets are $50 and are available at: https://bit.ly/2H9LvIM
Cherokee County has had a supporting role in more than 100 filmed works over the last 10 years, organizers said.
Marshall Day, COED chairman, said his office “has an established reputation for building collaborative relationships. Those relationships are key in engaging industries that want to establish roots here. The film industry is one of those.”
