A pair of Harley-Davidson motorcycles no longer needed by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and a set of fire hoses and nozzles declared surplus by Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services will be donated to two other first responders in Georgia.

The Cherokee Board of Commissioners approved transferring the motorcycles to the Ellijay Police Department. They are 2012 and 2013 models in fair condition, according to a county surplus property transfer form.

The county also approved giving 91 sections of 50-foot fire hoses, sized from 1¾ to 2½ inches in diameter, as well as nine nozzles to the Iron City Volunteer Fire Department. Some of the equipment predates 1999, and the gear is in fair condition.

The Iron City department provides fire and emergency services to Iron City and Seminole County in southwest Georgia.
