Cherokee County Public Works on Monday morning is to start the first section of the Little Road project, clearing and reconstructing the thoroughfare between Hickory Road and East Cherokee Drive, according to a county Facebook posting.
“This will be for an indefinite length of time,” the county said. “Public Works and other utility companies will be working on this project during daylight hours until the project is complete. The road will be open to local and through traffic, but expect long delays. Please use alternate routes if possible.”
Little Road runs north and south between Hickory and Vaughn roads near unincorporated Hickory Flat, northeast of Woodstock. It is to be widened and improved, according to a county list of road projects.
