The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved a list of 12 roads totaling about 18.2 miles in Cherokee County to be resurfaced next year using roughly $2.5 million in state grant funds.
The 2020 Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation would have to be matched by $749,906 in county funds, for a total cost of $3.2 million, Community Development Director Geoffrey E. Morton said in a report to commissioners. The work would be bid next spring and completed by the fall of 2020.
The list includes segments of Lower Birmingham Road, Arnold Mill Road, Barnes Road, Birmingham Road, Old Orange Mill Road, Sardis Road, Upper Burris Road, Ridge Road, Moss Rose Trail, Percheron Drive, Plowline Ridge and Singletree Trace. Information: https://bit.ly/2O9rHqB
