Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services announced the delivery of six new fire engines, with the hope they can enter service Aug. 3 after equipment, including hoses and radios, are installed.

The engines have advanced lighting and new sirens so they can be seen and heard better, and a bigger EMS compartment to assist with emergency medical calls, according to Cherokee County Division Chief Dean Floyd.

The engines were ordered in March, 2019, from Fireline Inc. of Winder. They will be assigned to Stations 1 and 19, Acworth; Station 8, Holly Springs; Station 9, North Canton; Station 20, Woodstock, and Station 22, Canton. Information: https://bit.ly/31nD6Kj
