In light of the continuing COVID-19 emergency, Cherokee County announced Wednesday that it is extending to April 30 the closure to the public of county offices.

Facilities to remain shuttered include the Cherokee County Administrative Building at the Bluffs and the Senior Center, Tax Assessor's Office, Aquatics Center and Recreation Center, according to the announcement. The county will operate remotely during normal business hours.

"All offices shall continue to be accessible through phone and email to answer any questions or concerns," the county said. "Residents can also schedule appointments in advance. To contact an individual department, visit www.cherokeega.com or call 678-493-6000."

The county said it would continue monitoring and evaluating the situation and will determine later whether to extend the closures through May 19. Information: https://bit.ly/2xWzBho
