The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has awarded a $33,434 design assignment for paving the last 500 feet of Iron Mountain Road east of Liberty Hill Road in the eastern part of the county.
Moreland Altobelli Associates will draw up the plans under an existing professional services agreement with the county, according to a staff report to commissioners.
The engineering consultant will locate the existing 50-foot-wide right-of-way and then design a 20-foot-wide paved roadway, with ditch section, from the end of the existing pavement to the end of the platted roadway.
“Methods of handling storm drainage also are required,” staff said. “The typical Cherokee County residential roadway section will be used. A cul-de-sac bulb is required.”
The project will be constructed by in-house forces and paid for using county roadway SPLOST funds. Information: https://bit.ly/2VL9aBB
