The historic gymnasium of the former Woodstock Elementary School is now home to Fresh Start Cherokee’s The Circuit, a center for entrepreneurial start-ups offered by Chattahoochee Technical College and the economic development offices of Cherokee County and Woodstock.

The Circuit, similar to a business development center, offers training resources to tenants preparing business plans, marketing strategies and ways to increase cash flow, as well as centralized office resources. The aim is to provide businesses, startups and students a place to network, meet and tap into training resources, officials said.

Chattahoochee Tech students also can use the facility as a student center. It is in the Woodstock campus of the Marietta-based college. Constructed as a public school in the 1930s, the Cherokee County Board of Education in 2013 deeded the building to the state for use by the college. Since then, the structure has undergone a $5.3 million renovation.

“The college is pleased to be partnering with Cherokee County and the city of Woodstock to offer this first-of-its-kind work space that jointly promotes workforce development and student success,” said Ron Newcomb, president of Chattahoochee Tech.
