Chattahoochee Hills announced that the Cochran Mill Park Trail project was chosen as the winner of the Coalition for Recreational Trails Annual Achievement Award. The coalition chose the city’s project for its outstanding use of Recreational Trails Program funds in the Maintenance and Rehabilitation category, which specifically addresses maintaining, repairing damage to, or upgrading the quality of a trail.

“We are truly honored by this award and recognition which could not have been accomplished without the incredible and dedicated volunteers we have here in Chattahoochee Hills,” said Parks Commission member Diana Wilson. Wilson facilitated the grant process.

The award will be presented on June 8 in Washington, D.C. at a special awards ceremony on Capitol Hill. Wilson, Mayor Tom Reed, and Fire Chief Gregg Brett plan to attend the ceremony to accept the award.
