The city of Chamblee mayor and council are inviting the community to the groundbreaking ceremony for International Village Park at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 22 at 3375 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee.
When complete, the revitalized plan for this 1.4-acre park will feature a multi-use field, a community garden, a new playground, an entertainment plaza, a renovated parking lot, lighting, fencing and reforestation around the entire property.
Construction for the park is scheduled to begin in May, with completion scheduled for January 2020, weather permitting.
Canfield Park, located at 3090 Canfield Drive, also is undergoing revitalization.
Additions include a playground structure, building a retaining wall that also serves as a seat wall and adding a concrete sidewalk at the entrance. This work is scheduled to be complete January 2020, weather permitting.
