“Chainsaw strike teams” of five to seven people have been sent out, primarily east of metro Atlanta, to remove debris that has brought down power lines or blocked roads that emergency or power company crews need to access.

Four of the teams are inmates in the custody of the Department of Corrections. The Georgia Forestry Department and the Department of Natural Resources are staffing the remaining 13 strike teams.
