Celebrities come out for annual Macy’s Great Tree Lighting ceremony

Thousands of people showed up to Lenox Square Sunday evening to help ring in the holiday season for the 68thannual Macy's Great Tree Lighting.

There were several celebrities and prominent public figures among those attending the event.

Mayor Kasim Reed attended the annual tradition with his wife and daughter.

The star of the evening, of course, was Jordin Sparks. The former "American Idol" winner made a special performance onstage at Lenox Mall and posed for a photo op with Santa Claus.

Danny Gokey, a former "American Idol" finalist, was also a special performer at tonight's event.

Cadillac Jack, co-host of "Cadillac and Dallas in the Mornings" on Kicks 101.5, expressed his admiration for Jordin Sparks while interviewing her after her performance.

Though she wasn't at the Christmas tree lighting, singer Ciara also appeared at Lenox Mall to promote a TopShop Atlanta shopping event earlier this week.
