The Canton Police Department has scheduled its third Police Recruitment Program for November as it seeks candidates for the position of police officer.

Candidates must be present at the start of the program, 3 p.m., Nov. 16, on the third floor of Canton City Hall, 151 Elizabeth St., according to an announcement on the department's Facebook page.

Attendees will be presented with department information, including its mission statement, budget, equipment breakdown, current programs and organizational structure. Presenters also will cover hiring standards, the hiring process and salaries and benefits, followed by a question-and-answer session.

"We are working hard to build a team that strives to connect with our citizens, protect our public, supports each other and endeavors to improve the quality of life for the community we serve," Police Chief Mark J. Mitchell said. He urged candidates to monitor the department's Facebook page in the coming weeks for additional recruiting information.
