The Canton City Council will address drinking and driving warnings and a change in park regulations at Thursday’s meeting.
Council members will vote on an ordinance amendment proposed by Mayor Gene Hobgood that would require posting a notice in the window of both package alcohol outlets and those with on-premise consumption licenses. It would remind customers not to drink and drive and would offer a free ride home by Canton Police for anyone who feels they’re too drunk to get behind the wheel.
The Council will also consider a measure that would allow dogs in Etowah Park on a permanent basis, after a trial period in which no complaints or problems were reported. It would be the only city park allowing canines.
The Council meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at Canton City Hall, 151 Elizabeth St. .
