Qualifying is complete for the May 24 special election to fill City Council District 3 in Sandy Springs.
City officials said that banker Christopher Burnett, civic activist Brian Eufinger, Delta Airlines pilot Joseph Houseman, Fulton County Republican Party Executive Director Susan Voyles and former city judge Lawrence Young signed up and paid filing fees by the midday Friday deadline.
Former District 3 council member Graham McDonald resigned in mid-March to run for a Georgia House seat.
The seat encompasses a large part of central Sandy Springs, north of Interstate 285 and mainly west of Roswell Road.
To vote in the special election, residents must live within that district and be a registered voter. The voter registration deadline for the special election is April 26.
