A woman suspected of an armed robbery Sunday afternoon in Buckhead led police on a high-speed chase before being arrested in Douglas County, police said.

No one was injured when the suspect, 34-year-old Michelle Horne, was apprehended by Atlanta police on I-20 westbound in the Fairburn Road area, Officer Curtis Davenport said.

The incident began in a parking lot on West Wieuca Road around 3 p.m., Davenport said. As officers were getting details from the victim about the suspect's description, the suspect was spotted by additional officers, he said.

Horne declined to stop and instead led officers on a chase through Atlanta and DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb and Douglas counties before she pulled over, Davenport said. Speeds reached above 80 mph, police said.

"Danger to other motorists was minimal as traffic was very light," Davenport said in a statement.

Horne has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and a host of traffic charges, Davenport said. She was transported to the Fulton County jail.

In addition to Sunday's charges, Horne has also been linked to a robbery Oct. 30, Davenport said. It is possible that she was also involved in additional crimes, he said.
