Buckhead nail salon customers robbed at gunpoint

Police are searching for the suspects

Two men terrorized customers at a Buckhead nail salon while they robbed the business, police said.

The gunmen walked into the packed Lush Nails and Spa on Northside Parkway about 8 p.m. Friday. All the customers and workers were told to get on the floor and hand over their credit cards and cash, according to a police report.

One woman was on her phone and was completely taken by surprise. One of the men hit her in the head with a gun when she didn’t get off the phone and get on the floor fast enough, the report states.

Another suspect kicked a worker and pistol-whipped another employee, police said.

Billy Pero, who owns a restaurant in the same plaza as the nail salon, told Channel 2 Action News it’s terrifying to hear what happened at the nail salon and to the owner.

“Yes, we were shocked because we’re friends with them and he comes in here for lunch all the time,” Pero said.

Pero said he believes thieves are targeting the area, looking for opportunities.

“Actually, one of our delivery drivers, his car got broken into two weeks ago,” Pero said. “We just need to step up security in our plaza. It’s scary.”

Police said officers will be patroling the plaza more often.

“Hopefully they’ll step it up and keep everybody safe,” Pero said.
