Brookhaven sets meetings to improve parks

PARC Brookhaven along with the city of Brookhaven and the parks and rec department will host meetings to create improvement plans for Ashford Park, Skyland Park and Georgian Hills Park. Called visioning sessions the goal is to create plans for each park that will be presented to the city council and the Parks & Recreation Department for funding consideration in 2015 and subsequent budget years, to depict desired park features, improvements and recommended new equipment.

The sessions have been organized to seek broad community input for specific park improvement ideas.

Visioning sessions for Ashford Park: 7 - 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and 10-11:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at Ashford Park Community

Center, 2980 Redding Road. Sessions for Georgian Hills Park: 7 - 8:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and 10 - 11:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road. Sessions for Skyland Park: 7 - 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 10-11:30 a.m. Feb. 5 at Briarwood Recreation Center, 2235 Briarwood Way.
