An important implementation of the Brookhaven Parks’ Master Plan was reached recently when the replacement pedestrian bridge arrived. The bridge, meant to replace the one destroyed last year, was transported to Murphey Candler Park, located at 1551 West Nancy Creek Drive.
Now that the new bridge is in place, it will still be a few weeks before the new structure is pedestrian ready. Contract workers will now stabilize and anchor the conveyance and repair the sidewalks leading up to it. Weather permitting, the project should be complete by early October.
