Brookhaven issues 35-day zoning moratorium

The city of Brookhaven approved a 35-day moratorium this week on all zoning cases, land disturbance permits and building permits.

“Brookhaven recently became of aware of a gap in our zoning code that occurred at the time of incorporation which could adversely affect current Brookhaven property owners,” said Councilmember Bates Mattison. “We have to have a temporary moratorium to make a technical fix to protect existing residents and businesses.”

The moratorium remains in effect until Feb. 27.
