Brookhaven recently swore in its first two police officers, supervisors who will support Chief Gary Yandura.

Lt. Brandon Gurley will serve as the department’s public information officer and lead community outreach efforts. He previously worked for Sandy Springs Police and the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Mike Goode was also sworn in as a commander. He worked for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years before taking on the new role in Brookhaven.

The city expects to hire a full department and begin patrols later this year.
