The Brookhaven City Council recently voted unanimously to disband the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. At its regular meeting Tuesday, council discussed finding other ways to utilize resident input after reviewing the advisory process of the committee.

The vote approving the re-appointment of Hope Bawcom to the city’s zoning board of appeals was also unanimous, allowing her to serve another four years.

The council approved a new QuikTrip store upon recommendation from the development authority for approval of the alcohol-selling convenience store and gas station at 3249 Buford Highway. The location was formerly Cream Ultra Lounge.

The council also voted to extend contracts with both Lowes Engineering LLC and Charles Abbott and Associates. It also passed a storm water ordinance which outlines how excess storm water runoff would be redirected to prevent flooding.
