The Brookhaven Planning Commission has asked Brookhaven residents for input on the proposal to create a design review board. The board, if enacted, would regulate the exterior design and appearance of buildings and structures within the city. The ordinance proposed by the commission states that these regulations would be enacted on proposed improvements to or new building of structures within the Brookhaven-Peachtree Overlay District.

The planning commission has asked residents to email responses to any of the following: Should a design review board be created? How should members be chosen? Should its scope be limited to commercial buildings? Should its scope be limited to the Overlay District? Instead of creating a board, should design regulations be written into city code?

This will be discussed at the next planning commission meeting on March 1.
