Brookhaven is conducting a public roads survey this week. Using an automated data collection vehicle, Infrastructure Management Services will drive every street and collect data on conditions.

The data collection vehicle is specially equipped with video, lasers and computers, and will record information on the roads, their width, curbs and signs. The work started over Memorial Day weekend and should be completed by Wednesday, in preparation for upcoming street paving.

During the paving period neighborhoods with private streets in Brookhaven will be eligible to take advantage of the same pricing for asphalt and other materials. Once the city awards the paving contract to the lowest bidder, the city will provide contact information of the selected contractor. The neighborhood will be required to enter into a direct contract with the paving contractor for work on their streets.
