Walking along E. Roxboro Road just got easier and safer.

The city of Brookhaven Public Works Department is finishing up an 800-foot section of sidewalk on E. Roxboro near Goodwin drive, which provides connectivity to two other sidewalks already in place. The $174,000 project included a raised granite platform, handrails, and corrected drainage issues at the site.

Council Member Joe Gebbia says this has been one of the top priorities along E. Roxboro Road.

“This is a high traffic area and there have been a number of issues to consider in terms of safety, drainage, ADA access and aesthetic quality. Now that everything’s done, except a few punch list items, it’s safe to say this is a vast improvement benefiting all our residents in the Pine Hills and Devereaux Commons neighborhoods,” said Council Member Gebbia.
