The Associated General Contractors of America recently awarded Braselton first place in the 2020 AGC Build Georgia Awards for construction excellence for their downtown parking deck.

Braselton’s parking deck at the corner of Ga. 53 and Davis Street and has four levels, 270 parking spaces, and two electric vehicle charging stations. BM&K, the design-build engineer for the project, mixed architectural styles from the historic Braselton Bros. Store and the adjacent Municipal Complex.

“The parking deck is an important component of our strategy to bring more visitors into the heart of the town,” Town Manager & Clerk Jennifer Scott said. “BM&K helped us create a well-designed product that blends perfectly with Braselton’s historic downtown.”

The deck provides complimentary parking for downtown businesses and events as well as a future SPLOST-funded civic center that is slated to begin later this year.

Winners of the AGC awards are selected based on project safety performance, overcoming the challenges of a difficult project, innovation in construction techniques and materials, excellence in project management and scheduling, and dedication to client service and customer care.
