The Braselton Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building, 5040 State Route 53, on a proposed amendment to previously approved zoning at the Village at Chateau Elan that will allow for senior independent living, senior assisted living, and senior memory care facilities. Fountainhead Residential Development, LLC would like to amend the existing 56.6 acre development at the corner of Thompson Mill Road and Ga. 211.
The proposed community will consist of a 100-unit building, with 76 assorted living units with a mixture of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Twenty-two memory care units will be composed of studio and semi-private units.
A senior independent living community is proposed for the southeastern corner of the property. This four-story building will contain 100 living units, dining, barber shop, beauty salon and various other activity areas. Eighteen cottages to the north and south of the main building are designed for those seeking more room and independence.
If approved by the planning commission, Braselton’s mayor and council will hold a public hearing on the proposal at 4 p.m. Oct. 10.
