Six Fayette County students musicians have been selected to three metro Atlanta youth orchestras. Sarah Park of McIntosh High and Edward Huang of Whitewater High were selected as members of the 2018-19 Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony. Sandy Creek High's Skyler Bugg has been selected as a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Bria Rives (Bennett's Mill Middle), Natali Vera Pimentel (Sandy Creek High) and Diane Kwon (J.C. Booth Middle) have been selected as members of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra.
The Georgia State Senate passed a resolution honoring Niraj Jinan, a senior at Milton High School as a remarkable and distinguished Georgian - commending his academic ability, leadership and community service. He was presented the award on Oct. 8 by Sen. John Albers.
