The Sequoyah High School Sequoyah Singers Women, led by teacher and director Josh Markham, were selected to perform at the American Choral Directors Association s Southern Region Conference in Louisville, Ky. in February. Only six high school choral groups were chosen through the challenging audition process that was open to applicants from 11 states; the event also features six college and university groups, three middle school groups and four other select groups.

William Chick of Smyrna was on the Gettysburg College Dean's Honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2017 semester.

Melanie Hall of Austell was named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the Fall Semester 2017.

Nikitta F. Johnson of Lithonia has been selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for academic achievement during the Fall 2017 semester.

Kaley Weir of Alpharetta was named to the Fall Semester 2017 Academic Dean's List at University of Dubuque.

Kevin Hansen of Acworth was named to the Marist College Dean's List for the Fall 2017 semester.

Kylie Williams of Alpharetta graduated from Delaware Valley University in December 2017.

Patrick Bass of Loganville received a scholarship to Clarkson University.

Hannah Adkins and Annalise Simons of Atlanta, Jabari Ajao of Fairburn and William Stowers of Kennesaw earned the Dean's Award with Distinction for the fall 2017 semester at Colgate University.

Li Zeng of Duluth, Danielle Lyman and Courtney Boyer of Decatur, Daeya Shuster of Avondale Estates, Leanne Robinson and Cayla Keiser of Roswell, Aaron Cote of Lithia Springs, Nana Aikins of Austell, Scott Semler of Atlanta, Baasit Khan of Woodstock and Alexandra Frail of Alpharetta were named to the Dean's List for fall semester at Rochester Institute of Technology.
