Bragbook Extra for Jan. 17

Today as the parades, speeches and various events commemorating the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. begin to fade from memory, let us not forget that the Atlanta native son was a champion for those who worked toward greatness. In his spirit, enjoy an extra edition of Bragbook where deeds great and small are recognized.

Cameron Chong, Griffin Gilder and Rama Sambatur of Alpharetta, David Bertrand, Thomas Brunner, Caleb Burke, Reed Carlson, Charles Cheng, Addison Culbreth, Omar Diaz, George Downs V, Mitchell Odendahl, Robert Scott III and Raymond Zhu of Johns Creek and Dallin Anderson and Matthew Hashemi of Roswell became Eagle Scouts.

Vikram Ruppa-Kasani of Alpharetta, Andrew Gerhardstein, Bradley Arms and Ryan Williams of Johns Creek and Kyle Nichols, Adam Puckett and Chason Thompson of Roswell became Eagle Scouts.

Evan Hunter of Holy Innocents' Episcopal School earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Riley Martin of Greater Atlanta Christian School earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Marcus Stepfon of Atlanta earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jack Rivers and Shelby Wright of Woodward Academy and their teacher Paul Angelo Vogt have been selected to exhibit at the University of North Georgia's annual Georgia Art Educators and Students Exhibition with digital color photographs on display in the annual, juried exhibit.

Julia Kochansky of Cherokee High School, Kelly Hart of Creekview High School and Anabelle Paulino of River Ridge High School have been named National Hispanic Scholars by the College Board.

Isabelle Riddle of Sequoyah High School and A.J. Cox of Woodstock High School are 2016-17 Coca-Cola Scholars Program semi-finalists.

Sonali Dade and Sherry Organ of Woodward Academy participated in the South Metro Atlanta Music Teachers Association's annual Music Day and received a superior rating.

Benjamin Hays of Roswell was admitted to Cornell College.

Maddison McDearmont of Cumming was admitted to Culver-Stockton College.

Frankeria Mona of Atlanta, Juwan Cameron of Austell, Taylor Nicole of Jefferson and Bailee Nicole of Winston were admitted to the University of the Cumberlands.
