Henry County officials are moving forward with a memorandum of understanding with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Georgia, the city of McDonough and the Henry County Board of Education regarding the establishment of two BGCCG locations in the near future.

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Sept. 3 regular meeting to direct county staff to move forward so a finalized agreement can be brought back to the board, possibly next month. If the deal goes as expected, the county and the city would provide funding for the 2019-2020 program year, and the school board would provide facilities at two existing school sites, both inside the city limits of McDonough.

The BGCCG would oversee all aspects of operation.
